Youth group
The Youth Group at Ibda’a Institution in Dheisheh Refugee Camp – Bethlehem is considered one of the oldest and most important departments within the institution. It represents the first organized framework of youth work that later became the foundation for many cultural, sports, and community development programs. The group was established with the aim of empowering young men and women in the camp, providing them with a safe space to actively participate in community life, develop their leadership skills, and strengthen their sense of initiative and teamwork, in line with Ibda’a Institution’s vision of building an aware, proactive generation capable of positive change.
The Youth Group organizes and coordinates a wide range of activities and programs targeting young people, such as training workshops, awareness sessions, volunteer initiatives, and cultural, social, and sports events. It also contributes to preparing and training young leaders within the camp through capacity-building programs focused on leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, while also promoting civic engagement and participation in issues relevant to the local community.
The group includes an active youth team of both males and females from different age categories, working within a flexible organizational structure based on committees and volunteer teams. This allows broad participation of young people in planning and implementation processes. The group is also directly connected to other departments within Ibda’a Institution, serving as a bridge between cultural, sports, and social activities, and contributing to the implementation of various youth-oriented programs.
